The #Badi_Baligh (I want to inform) Campaign against sexual harassment on women completed its fourth stage. The President of Mousawat Organization Mohammad Younis and RSC Fellow Amin Brair, conducted two consecutive training sessions for officers of the municipal police in Tripoli. The training took place at Nafwal Palace, the headquarters of Tripoli’s Municipality, which is endorsing the campaign.

Proceedings examined the definition of sexual harassment, along with the provisions introduced by “Law 205”, the legislative act that criminalize this social scourge in all its forms. The trainers discussed the most common cases of sexual harassment that have been occurring in Tripoli, highlighting the behaviors that legally fall into this category. The discussion time was very interactive, and the officers of the municipal police pledged their full support to the #Badi_Baligh Campaign and its goals.

In an interview released to the channel Tripoli LBN, the President of Mousawat Organization Mohammad Younis reminded that the #Badi_Baligh Campaign aims to tackle sexual harassment on women not only in Tripoli and North Lebanon, but in the whole country. As for the effectiveness of “Law 205”, RSC Fellow Amin Brair argued that “it is a newly devised law – just 1 year old. Therefore, some time is still necessary to ascertain if there are gaps, and to figure out solutions and adjustments in order to improve it”.
