The #Badi_Baligh (I want to inform) Campaign got started in Tripoli. The first two sessions took place on November 26 and 27, respectively at “Al Salah and Islah” high school, and at the Siyak Center, where Mousawat Organization gathered two groups of more than 80 youths who were trained by the Internal Security Forces – Judicial Police Unit on a variety of topics to address the scourge of women harassment. Captain Omar Khaddaj explained how victims can protect themselves, especially on transportation and the internet, and file complaints to local authorities.

He provided information about the Harassment Law 205 and the penalties that can be applied, and also illustrated a number of past stories and cases in order for the young participants to benefit from these experiences. During the debate, the audience shared comments and questions with the ISF instructor, showing support for the #Badi_Baligh Campaign.

This initiative by Mousawat Organization features a wide network of partners, including other local NGOs, professional syndicates, and the Religion & Security Council (RSC). The main partner is the Municipality of Tripoli, which is actively engaged in backing the #Badi_Baligh Campaign.

In a video message, Tripoli’s Mayor Riyad Yamak warned that “sexual harassment is a crime punishable by Lebanese law”, highlighting that “we, in Tripoli and North Lebanon, consider all kinds of sexual harassment unacceptable in all divine messages”. Therefore, “we are supporting #Badi_Baligh Campaign and encourage any victim to report her case”.
