
The preparatory meeting for the launch of the #Badi_Baligh (“I want to inform”) Campaign against women harassment, promoted by Mousawat Organization, took place yesterday, at the Nawfal Palace, Municipality of Tripoli. The proceedings were chaired by the Director of Mousawat Organization, Mohamad Younis, and engaged the network of Mousawat‘s partners in the #Badi_Baligh Campaign: municipalities in North Lebanon, professional syndicates, civil society organizations, and the Religion & Security Council (RSC), represented by RSC Fellow Amin Brair.

The discussion focused on how to support the implementation of the Harassment Law 205 and to achieve the goals of the #Badi_Baligh Campaign, which will feature a variety of activities, such as:
– Awareness sessions by lawyers and specialist police officers to provide knowledge and resources on how to prevent and stop women harassment;
– Online campaign to address cyber bullying by the dissemination of posters, short films, key messages, and slogans;
– Follow up with the Internal Security Forces (ISF) concerning cases of harassment;
– Practicing of self-defense and self-confidence building for victims and other girls.
The #Badi_Baligh Campaign against women harassment aims to have a positive impact on woman rights and gender equality in Tripoli and North Lebanon.
