RSC Senior Fellow Rajganna Kananathan represented the Religion and Security Council (RSC) at the Final Policy Dialogue Meeting of the project “Strengthening the Security and Resilience of At-Risk Religious Sites and Communities” (SOAR), held in Brussels on March 14, 2023. Mr. Kananathan is a member of the SOAR Advisory Board. Launched in April 2021, this 2-year project funded by the European Commission and supported by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), aims to address the security concerns of religious communities in seven EU countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, and Netherlands). In 2022 and 2023 National Policy Dialogues have been organized in all focus countries. The dialogues brought together relevant stakeholders such as religious communities, law enforcements and policy makers to share best practices and policy recommendations that support strengthening the safety and security of religious sites and places of worship within the EU and across national contexts of EU member States.
