Dr. Francesco Zannini is Emeritus Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI), and Professor of Arabic Language, LUMSA University, Rome. Former Member of the Scientific Committee established by the Italian Ministry of Home Affairs to draft the “Chart of Values for Integration and Citizenship” (2006-2008), he was also Professor of Islamic Studies at National Major Seminary in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Post-Doctoral Fellow at the American University in Cairo and Yale University. Former editor of the magazine Encounter – Documents for Muslim-Christian Understanding, he is the author of numerous essays and articles on the history of Islam and interfaith dialogue.
